Emily began learning brass instruments when she joined a local community brass band that had it’s own private education program at the age of 8. Emily followed music through high school with the Special Interest Music Program at Brighton Secondary School and completed a Bachelor of Music; Classical Performance on Tuba at the Elder Conservatorium of Music in 2017. Emily is a casual with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and is a member of many community ensemble as well as interim Musical director of Marion City Band and Warriparinga Brass.
Learning with a brass band and playing with other ensembles has given Emily the skills to play and teach various genres of music on several brass instruments including Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, and Tuba.
