Nikita fell in love with music at a young age, starting piano when she was only 5. After much experience and trying multiple instruments e.g. the flute and trumpet, she settled on the saxophone, playing both classical and jazz music on music throughout her high school career. She completed Grade 7 AMEB (Piano for Leisure) in high school and is now studying third year classical saxophone at the Elder Conservatorium of Music. During this time, she has been involved in a highly diverse range of ensembles and is familiar with many genres of music, playing in concert band, Latin ensemble, wind orchestra, stage band, saxophone quartets, pit orchestras and singing in jazz choir, classical choir and State Opera just to name a few. She also loves musical theatre and finds herself at every show she can fit into her calendar. Nikita is passionate about music education, loves working with young people and is fascinated by the way music impacts our brains and our world.
