Lester
Consultant - Violin and Theory
Lester has been learning the Violin since the age of 7, and has since been deeply immersed in an environment filled with music. After picking up the Chinese Fiddle (Erhu) at the age of 8, he joined the school's orchestra and was given the privilege of leading it not too long after. Lester also enjoys chamber music and ensemble playing, and sees it as a vital part of his music education and journey. He was awarded 1st prize in the 2002 National Chinese music competition in Singapore with the ensemble he participated in. He has also completed an A ssociate Diploma in Violin performance (Trinity) and a Diploma in Erhu performance (Central Conservatory).
Lester has completed a Bachelors of Music at the Elder Conservatorium of Music majoring in Classical Violin performance, and performs regularly with the Conservatory's Symphony and Chamber Orchestra. He also enjoys leading and playing with his String Quartet - the Maple String Quartet, which has successfully completed the 2014 Mt Buller Chamber Music Summer School program. Lester believes that his passion in music has allowed him to see and appreciate the beauty in everything. He enjoys photography and crafting in his spare time.
